Man of God: Katy Perry, pictured here with Russell Brand at a pre-Grammys party in Beverly Hills last January, claims her new husband is a spiritual person
Russell Brand is usually described as wild, crazy, extroverted, eccentric, an ex-drug and sex addict - the list goes on.
So it came as a bit of a surprise that his new wife Katy Perry described him as 'a great man of God.'
The 25-year-old singer, who married the 35-year-old comedian last month in India, made the sweeping claim in a recent interview with Harpers Bazaar.
'I always knew I wanted a great man of God, someone who was going to be an inspiration for people and also be a lovely husband and father,' she told the magazine in their December issue, for which she is the cover model.
'We’re at different places in our lives, but we can still grow together.'
'He’s thought-provoking, articulate, a real advocate. I also definitely wanted to have a laugh. I have all that in him.'
When talking about what kind of person she is, Katy has different views.
'I’m kind of a good girl -- and I’m not,' Perry says.
'I’m a good girl because I really believe in love, integrity, and respect. I’m a bad girl because I like to tease. I know that I have sex appeal in my deck of cards. But I like to get people think ing. That’s what the stories in my music do.'

She said: 'Like Ludacris rapped, "I'm a lady in the street and a freak in the bed."
'I can't rate myself, but if you ask Russell I'm sure he'd give me a ten out of ten.'
The singer claims that she is not bothered about her new husband's past despite reports suggesting the pair wrote a list of pre-marriage rules which included no nightclub visits without the other and no talking to ex's.
'He's made no secret of what his life was like before me, but that's then and this is the future.'
He's cheated in the past but he knows how good he has it with me and I know he'd never do anything to jeopardize that. I trust him 100 percent.'
The magazine goes on sale just as new details about the Brand's recent nuptials are released.
A source who attended the wedding revealed that that guests were gifted with hand made saris and turbans to wear to the rehearsal dinner and that the wedding party itself took place inside air-conditioned tents with a hookah lounge and a separate dance tent.
The wedding invitations were designed by Shepard Fairey, a good friend of Russell's who also designed the now World famous Barack Obama campaign poster as well as the cover for Russell's new book.
