Speaking out: Justin Bieber revealed he had been bullied during an appearance on Ellen DeGeneres' talk show today
He has sold millions of albums and is a heartthrob to legions of teenage girls.
But it seems even Justin Bieber has suffered at the hands of bullies.
'Everybody goes through bullying,' he told Ellen DeGeneres on Wednesday afternoon's edition of her talk show. 'Everybody has, even me.
'On my YouTube page, there are so many haters. They just say crazy stuff.
'Like, I'm not mad, I'm 16 and I don't have chest hair. I'm not angry about it at the moment. That will come,' added the star.
'People are like, "Look at him, he puts helium in his voice before he sings,"' he said. 'You just have to laugh at yourself. It's funny.'
Low key: Bieber was dressed casually in a black T-shirt, black baseball cap and jeans teamed with silver necklaces
The star, who this week appeared in Los Angeles to sign copies of his autobiography Justin Bieber: First Step 2 Forever, also has a message for anyone who might see bullying going on around them.
'There are so many bullies. It goes on so much,' he said. 'Especially if you are a bystander, you definitely should help out because it could be you next.'
Bieber looked low key in a black T-shirt, jeans and black baseball cap as he taught DeGeneres new dance moves called the 'Dougie' and the 'Cat Daddy'.

DeGeneres also quizzed Bieber about his dating life.
'It happens,' he joked. 'I like to hang out with girls and date and stuff like every other 16-year-old.'
The Baby singer revealed he went to a high school American football game with his actor friend Jaden Smith, where he ran into Disney star Selena Gomez.
'It was the weirdest thing,' he said. 'She's sweet. She's a sweetheart. We were at a high school game and she came too.'
'It was weird,' he added. 'No one bothered me at all.'
